March 28th, 2012

Long time and no type...I have been doing yoga but have been pretty wrapped up in BodyRocking bodyrock.tv to post or remember to post, as I've been doing yoga late in the evening. Tonight, I figured I need to get BACK to posting! Here's what I did this evening, as I was feeling antsy and tightly wound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6Wt9CFb-4s

February 17th, 2012

Another sequence of my own today: I started with 3 sun salutations. I then did a flow on my right side: Warrior I, Warrior II, Reverse Warrior and extended side angle pose. I repeated on my left. Then, I did the flow again 3 times fast on each side. I would breathe in, go into pose, breathe out into different pose. From there, I did another standing flow. Tree pose then I grabbed ahold of my right big toe with my left hand and twisted back looking behind me, looking forward again I moved into Warrior III then Half Moon Pose then Standing Splits. I repeated on my left side. From there I went from Royal Dancer Pose into Eagle then repeated on my left. I stepped wide and bent forward into Wide Leg Forward Bend. I then stood up and squatted into Goddess Pose. I closed out sitting on my legs with a short meditation. Hooray for Friday! Namasté.

February 15th, 2012

I did my own night practice to help me sleep. I started in Mountain Pose and focused my breath on my practice. I did a flow of Warrior I, II, extended side angle, bound side angle, then straightened my leg and put my forehead to my knee in a great stretch. I repeated on my left side. From there, I moved into a high lunge, then twisted side angle then half moon pose; repeating again on the other side. I sat down and did pigeon pose, putting my head to the floor for a deeper stretch. I then did monkey pose on each side putting my head to my knee. I sat and extended my legs out. I stretched to the left, right and then middle. I challenged my balance in crane pose before lying down to go into bridge pose. Then, from bridge, I put my head on the ground and extended up into wheel pose. I collapsed down slowly and rested in savasana. Namaste.

February 13th, 2012

This afternoon, I wanted a short challenging sequence to wake me back up. I found the perfect upload taught by Neesha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhxLJeqpMow&feature=g-u-u&context=G2797330FUAAAAAAAAAA

February 12th, 2012

I did my own yoga sequence this morning. I started off with 3 sun salutations. From there I did a flow on one side then repeated on the other side: Warrior I, Warrior II, extended side angle, bound side angle, Warrior III, Standing Splits (I'd say I held each around 5 breaths). After finishing on the second side, I moved my feet together and hands up into Awkward Pose. From there I did a short flow from Tree Pose to Hand to Big Toe pose while twisting facing the back then repeated on other side. I then did Eagle Pose to end my standing practice. Down into bow pose, back into child's pose. Crane then headstand (which I held longer). Sitting with legs wide I stretched to the left, then to the right, then center. After, I relaxed in savasana. Namaste.

February 10th, 2012

I actually forgot to post a couple of times when I did yoga...oops. Please forgive me. Today was the start of my cycle. Therefore, I did Neesha's Yoga for your Cycle again. I noticed in the past when I did this while on my period; it actually DID move faster through my body. Hooray for that! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mChI17yrOXM

January 31st, 2012 - Evening Practice

This worked out more to be breathing and tips for falling asleep. Lots of great tips and the poses, of course, work like a charm. I'm feeling very sleeeeepy...could be the help of the chamomile tea too. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzHJQSv5zmE

January 31st, 2012

Happy Tuesday! I found another fun, fat burning yoga sequence uploaded by yogatoday.com and taught by Neesha. It's a bit difficult as you transition from headstand to crane and back into headstand. I started to sweat though, so progress! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BaLzD2hnJA&context=C36520e5ADOEgsToPDskKvOfK9s6a7acZ1FMxW_phR

TURN UP THE HEAT! The yoga challenge is over; time to continue on with my own practice. During lunch today, I found a fun, active sequence uploaded by yogatoday and taught by Adi. Some of the poses in this sequence are rather difficult, just do your best. Blocks are always helpful. Perfect sequence for getting the body moving and burning fat! Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ByHIVHRT70&context=C3310666ADOEgsToPDskIk3HemM9xvdWvqTa394RV-

It's the last day of the Yoga Challenge! Happy Sunday! Today's sequence is taught by Jason Crandell. Make sure to have a block and belt to help go deeper into the poses. This sequence includes a series of side bends. Namaste. http://www.yogajournal.com/21daychallenge/intermediate_day21?utm_source=YogaChallenge&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=YogaChallenge

January 28th, 2012

Good Saturday morning! It's Week 3, Day 6 of the Yoga Challenge. Today was the challenging sequence again taught by Jason Crandell to help aid into Bakasana or Crane Pose. I was not able to achieve full crane until I'd been practicing yoga several years. This sequence is perfect for actually preparing the body without having to accomplish full crane. Once full crane is achieved, it was a pretty magical experience. Namaste. http://www.yogajournal.com/21daychallenge/intermediate_day20?utm_source=YogaChallenge&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=YogaChallenge

Week 3 and Day 5 of the Yoga Challenge. I think this sequence is perfect for my busy Friday or perfect for any crazy work day, especially if you happen to sit in front of a computer. We did this sequence previously, all you need is a chair. Kate Holcombe instructs this very relaxing and restorative shoulder opening sequence. Enjoy!

Day 4, Week 3 of the Yoga Challenge. This sequence taught by Jason Crandell aids the body into wheel pose. It begins with a series of back bends and twisting postures. Happy Chinese New Year! It's the year of the water dragon and day 1 of week 3 of the yoga challenge. Today's sequence is taught by Elise Lorimer and works toward going into Hanumanasana or splits. I am able to go down almost to the floor with my left foot forward but not as far down on my right side. I suggest blocks to help. Good Morning! It's nice and foggy here in San Antonio today (I love the fog). It's Week 2 Day 5 of the Yoga Challenge. This sequence helps work toward Bakasana or Crane Pose, which is one of my favorites, now that I'm able to do it. Instructed by Jason Crandell and easy to follow. Perfect for beginners working toward this challenging pose. Namaste. http://www.yogajournal.com/21daychallenge/intermediate_day12

I signed up for the Yoga Journal's 21 Day Yoga Challenge. Today was a fairly easy sequence that really relaxed me. Or, perhaps it could've had to do with the overcast skies. Enjoy! http://www.yogajournal.com/21daychallenge/intermediate_day1

January 5th, 2012 & January 7, 2012

For these two days, I needed to do a quick boosting yoga. I decided to do the fat burning sequence with Sadie Nardini. I have done this sequence before and really enjoyed it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6Wt9CFb-4s

January 3rd, 2012 - Evening Practice

I wanted to do a quick practice this evening to settle in and it's rather late. I turned again to yogatoday and a class instructed by Adi for hip openers. I feel opening the hips at the end of the day helps the body settle and release stress. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jS6NuXYHdtY&feature=g-user-u&context=G2633174UCGXQYbcTJ33bu_AOj0TktNjJax8AXr9D6wW2zHOqHo1E
