December 29th, 2011
Another sequence on my own. I start with 2 sun salutations this morning then a flowing asana between Warrior I, II, reverse Warrior, Extended side angle pose, back to Warrior II and into Triangle all on right side, small asana in between then onto left side. From there, I stood and did Tree Pose into Royal Dancer on each side. Then, down on my knees into Camel pose and then into frog pose before relaxing into savasana.
December 28th, 2011
I did my own sequence again this evening. I started off with 3 sun salutations then from downward dog went into high lunge and twisted side angle on my right side. I did an asana and continued onto my left side. From there, I stood and did extended hand to big toe pose where I pull my leg in front of me and hold onto my toe with the opposite hand while twisting my body to look back. I centered back out and did eagle pose on each side then half moon pose on each side. I sat down and did half lord of the fishes on each side, then spread my legs and did head to knee on each side then extended forward bend then laid back into savasana.

December 22nd, 2011
It's another day of my own yoga sequence. I started with one sun salutation and went into Warrior I, II, reverse, extended side angle, hands clasped underneath bent leg, back to Warrior II straightened my leg and into intense side stretch into an asana and on to left side to repeat that flow. I then stood up and did half moon on each side. Sat down and went into boat pose then to bow pose then savasana. I held each pose about 5-7 breaths. Namaste

I did another sequence on my own this afternoon. I started with 3 sun salutations then into chair pose and revolved chair pose on each side. From there, I stood and grabbed hold of my toe with the opposite hand while turning my body with arm out to face the back. Onto revolved side angle pose, then I stood and did triangle, revolved triangle and wide legged forward bend. I sat and did half lord of the fishes pose on each side then into frog. I ended in child's pose.

December 20th, 2011-evening practice
This evening, I did another practice of my own. One sun salutation, then into high lunge and revolved side angle pose with an asana in between then onto the next side. From there I went into pigeon pose on my right side, grabbing my foot with both hands then releasing and stretching forward. I did my left side. From there, side plank on both sides, balancing while holding onto my top foot with my hand. Into eagle pose and extended hand to big toe pose on each side. I lowered down to do camel, then sat and extended my legs out. I turned to my left lowering my head to my knee then to my right and did the same then in the middle attempting to get my head to the ground. I then held crane a few breaths then held headstand, after that supported shoulder stand into plow. I lowered down to savasana.
December 20th, 2011
It's a beautiful morning. I did my own sequence today, somewhat like a flow. I started with 3 sun salutations. Then, I flowed between the next postures...Warrior I, Warrior II, Reverse Warrior, Extended Side Angle pose; I went into an asana then switched sides to do the other side. After finishing in downward dog and jumping into forward bend, I did a flow with Half Moon Pose, into Warrior III then into Standing Splits. Back to a forward bend and repeated on the other side. From there I did Tree Pose flowing into Royal Dancer and then switched sides. I sat down and went into Boat Pose. From there, I laid back to do Bridge Pose. I went down one vertebrae at a time then up into Wheel Pose. After, I laid in savasana. Nice energizing sequence. Namaste.

Another chilly morning here in San Antonio, in the 30s right now. I woke up feeling like a have a cold starting behind my nose area. Almost as if I could start sneezing and get runny nose at any second. I wanted to find a sequence to help boost my immunity.
I found a perfect one uploaded and taught by Sadie Nardini. She moves through each pose rather quickly so I followed the sequence but at a slower pace. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpDf0HBgNuo

November 24th, 2011 - Turkey DAY!
Happy Thanksgiving! As a tradition, every Thanksgiving, I run the Turkey Trot in my city; a four mile run through a park. I like starting off my day with a run so later I can relax.
I felt a bit of tension today and decided to try out this sequence uploaded by yogajournal. For the first time ever, I did yin yoga. I recommend yoga blocks, a bolster and a blanket. I used another yoga mat rolled up for my bolster, but the bolster the guy has in the video is much larger. It was VERY relaxing and very low key. Anyone would be able to do this sequence with ease. Namaste.

Happy Tuesday! We're 2 days away from Thanksgiving. I wanted to do another short yogatic sequence, this one also instructed by Esther Ekhart. The sequence focuses on lower back and core. I know of several people that have lower back problems. This sequence would help in a very relaxing way. November 17th, 2011 -Evening Practice
Good Evening! I had come across this upload before from yogatic instructed by Esther Ekhart but wanted to save it for an evening sequence.
Since it is for beginners, it's very easy to follow. I do feel much more relaxed and tension is gone. It's perfect too for just before bed since it's not very long.
I have to say, I have almost reached 100 postings. I've noticed that I feel happier. More fulfilled in life. I love yoga. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/user/yogatic#p/u/4/9k8xrU9LzZs
November 17th, 2011-Afternoon Practice
Found a great sequence from yogatoday instructed by Sarah Kline called Inner Balance. The sequence uses a LOT of balancing postures. Always remember, if you fall out, just go back into the pose. Sometimes you can be more balanced on one side than the other. I really enjoyed this practice. It was very challenging, especially when balancing on my yoga block!
Namaste.

I found another fun sequence uploaded by yogatoday and instructed by Neesha. I have to say, I love how positive Neesha always is and how much she just loves life.
This sequence is called 'Embracing Abundance'. I would definitely say this is an intermediate to advanced sequence but still fun for beginners to try.
If you do want to give it a shot, I recommend a strap. Several poses I couldn't fully go in to but enjoyed going as deeply as I could. It was a fantastic sequence. Namaste! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYV34HVIFGg

November 10th, 2011 - Afternoon Practice
I turned again to yogatoday.com for my afternoon sequence which is instructed by Adi. The sequence involves balancing and backbends. I definitely recommend straps and blocks for beginners or those not as loose.
I had some difficulty as well with this and started to sweat right away. One thing about Adi, she keeps you on your toes. And, I love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVj-9gSJehs
November 10th, 2011
Good Morning! It's a beautiful, chilly morning in San Antonio. I went back to yogajournal.com this morning and saw the new uploaded live mag for December! Yay, a new sequence.
The sequence is about creating a 'firm and grounded base'. Sometimes the holiday time can be a bit hectic. It's good to be grounded in life and this sequence helps with that.
Any yogi will easily be able to do this sequence. The only thing I recommend for newbies would be a block, if you need one for triangle pose or for half moon.

November 9th, 2011 - Afternoon Practice
I had saved another upload I had seen on youtube, this one under YogaVision108, a kundalini sequence.
It is very easy to follow with no difficult poses. The focus is mostly on easing the back. I really enjoyed this practice as the instructor is thorough and takes you through savasana and meditation. I feel great now. Ready to continue on with the day!
November 9th, 2011
Bonjour! It's a beautiful, chilly Wednesday morning. I found another fun yogajournal.com home practice. If you don't have a wall for the end pose, it recommends a chair. Wonderful home practice from yogajournal.com, part of their 'Live Mag'. I found this one impressive and challenging. I did this afternoon, not in the morning. November 7th, 2011 - Post Workout
Wanted to do a short post workout yoga/stretching with my friend today. I found a video. My only beef with it is it seems like the audio is not all there sometimes, the video and audio skips a lot. Other than that, great instructor. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C639ArXu1iw

Good Morning. After not doing yoga for several days, I was anxious to get back to the routine. I was able to sneak in some yoga while in Kansas City thankfully.

I did not do a practice until after noon today. I've been getting ready to go on a trip tomorrow so I most likely won't post anything again until Saturday or Sunday (that is, after today). I won't have access to do yoga while away. I found a nice upload by yogatoday instructed by Adi.
I definitely recommend blocks for this as the pose we're working toward is like side splits. I am not able to go all the way down either way but am more flexible with my left foot forward.
I enjoyed this a lot. They say you carry emotions in your hips. Good to be happy! Namaste.

Halloween -Afternoon Practice
I wanted to find another yogajournal.com sequence and came across 'Vishnu's Repose'. This sequence is listed as beginner and recommends a block, strap and blanket. I used another mat to sit on at the beginning and the rest of the sequence has a lot of grabbing a hold of the big toe or hands clasped behind the back.
Since I'm flexible in those ways, I didn't need a strap or block. However, for those who are not, the block and strap will help a lot. I enjoyed this sequence. It was perfect for the middle of my day today as I want to continue with calming my mind. Namaste.
Halloween
Happy Halloween! I have an upcoming trip that I'm pretty anxious about and this morning I was feeling a lot of tightness in my chest. I found a really relaxing sequence instructed by Esther Ekhart of yogatic.
It is labeled as a beginner, energizing sequence. Short and sweet, perfect for the start of my day. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=_06A3IzrBQU

Good Morning and happy Friday! As you know, Friday is busy for me. I found a nice quick yoga routine uploaded by RachhLoves. She's really easy to follow but doesn't seem to hold the poses for very long, I would've liked for it to be a little longer but short and sweet is good for this day. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E73kaKw3ouI

October 27th, 2011 - Evening Practice
I had saved a nice detox yoga sequence to my favorites to try. I believe this is filmed in the Netherlands. The instructor sometimes translates in Dutch.
I liked this sequence. It was very easy to follow, and there is another woman demonstrating the modified poses. The sequence is perfect for any detoxing. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6hX-NzYuso&feature=related
October 27th, 2011
This afternoon, I wanted to try some more kundalini yoga. I found an upload under spiritvoyage that has a sequence instructed by Anne Novak. I enjoyed her previous sequence I had done as did I enjoy this one.
The sequence is very intense as with most of the moving kriyas you are doing breath of fire. By the time I was sitting in meditation, energy was coursing through my body. The frog movement was lots of fun and started to get my legs and butt sore.
Since none of the poses are difficult and Anne offers up some modifications, I feel most yogis could do this sequence and thoroughly enjoy it. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiWDwhQRVQg&feature=related

October 26th, 2011 - MidDay Practice
I turned to yogajournal.com again today for a nice sequence that helps to twist the body into side crane. It is listed as an intermediate, but I'm sure beginners could easily attempt doing side crane. Must start somewhere. The rest of the sequence is several twists.
I have had difficulty before with side crane. I practiced awhile before even being able to go into crane. I am pretty stoked today as I could do side crane easily! I noticed I can get up easier when facing to my right than left. Enjoy! http://www.yogajournal.com/video/178
October 26th, 2011
Good Morning. I remember doing a sequence with this woman before, uploaded under UmojaYoga. She's easy to follow if you listen more and don't watch the screen (she moves slower than her voice in most cases). Great sequence of balancing poses though. It's always good to get your balance for the start of the day. Remember, don't get frustrated if you can't hold a pose for long. You have to work at balancing poses. You'll get there. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNLkDKNvx34&feature=related

October 25th, 2011 - Afternoon Sequence
Good Afternoon! I wanted a fairly quick sequence this afternoon. I found one on yogajournal.com called 'Healthy Twist'.
This sequence is designed to help with digestion. It's listed as a beginner's sequence, and they recommend using a yoga block. For advanced yogis, one can do the sequence without the aid of a block, like I did.
I love throwing in these twisting sequences; they really help to even out the inside body. I feel great now, energetic, time to move on with the rest of the day. Namaste.
October 25th, 2011
Good Morning! Here's another sequence I had come across earlier and saved to my favorites to try later. At some points, the wind blows right into the mic so it's hard to hear. Other than that, I enjoyed the sequence a lot, it got me sweating and my muscles working. Plus, she was easy to follow. Perfect for this fine Tuesday morning. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGCBCTM28Yc&feature=related

October 24th, 2011 - Evening Practice
Still feeling a bit high strung this evening, I was needing a longer sequence that would get out some of my energy. I had saved this one to my favorites to try. Another upload by HolmTV entitled Yoga Flow 101.
It was perfect. I sweat. All yogis should be able to accomplish this sequence. A block may be needed for triangle pose, or you could just hold on to your shin.
I'm going to go relax more before bedtime. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYhBFAr8mzo&feature=related
October 24th, 2011 - Afternoon Practice
I found a fun advanced sequence uploaded by HolmTV called Yoga with Les: Intermediate Vinyasa. Although this is intermediate, modifications are available or do what I did, I just held a pose I was in if I couldn't do the more advanced pose.
It definitely got me sweating and it was a lot of fun. Les is easy to follow. I feel energized!
October 24th, 2011
Good Morning! I found another lovely short sequence on yogajournal.com. It's listed for beginners and recommends a blanket and block. The block isn't needed, of course, if you can fully go into the pose. Short and sweet. http://www.yogajournal.com/video/174

October 23rd, 2011
Good Morning! I found a really energizing somewhat intermediate yoga sequence uploaded by HolmTV. It starts off with some quick sun salutations to get the heart pumping, perfect for the morning.
Afterward, there are some balancing poses. I say 'intermediate' because she does headstand and wheel that she doesn't exactly give modifications to fall back on. If you cannot do wheel, do bridge. If you cannot do headstand fully, I suggest a tripod (hands below head like a triangle, knees on elbows). Eventually, with practice, the harder poses follow.

October 22nd, 2011
Happy Saturday! My Saturday has been fantastic so far. I've been waiting to try this sequence for the perfect time; today is IT!
I found a yogatoday sequence instructed by Neesha to do while on your menstrual cycle. The whole purpose of the sequence is to aid in moving the energy (prana) down and out. It also helps with cramps. Make sure to have some yoga blocks and a bolster or blanket to lay on at the end.

October 21st, 2011 - Afternoon Sequence
Good Afternoon. Like I've mentioned before, Fridays are a busy day for me. I have to find time to do a quick yoga sequence. I know it's good for me to break away and do a short sequence to relax my mind and body.
I think...people take smoke breaks, I take yoga breaks. I found a new instructor, uploaded by sunroseyoga. She's doing this sequence after getting out of bed, but I think it is also perfect for a mid-day sequence.
The sequence is easy to follow and loosens up the shoulders and neck. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heSnT_T1TtY

October 20th, 2011 -Evening Sequence
Well, it was a crazy busy day. I was so looking forward to my yoga tonight and am I ever pleased.
A bad ass sequence uploaded by yogatoday and instructed by Sarah Kline. It's entitled 'Renewing Our Rhythms'. In this sequence, you do lots and I mean LOTS of the breath of fire. All to help get rid of stress and help glands. I loved it. I started sweating as well and bet I will feel some tightness in my abs tomorrow.
I believe all yogis could do this sequence but may find holding plank and breathing the breath of fire for 3 minutes rather challenging. Sarah offers modifications though.

October 19th, 2011-Afternoon Practice
Good Afternoon. It's a beautiful day here today in San Antonio. I have my window open and a cool air blowing in.
I wanted to do a sequence with a bit of heat. I found one on yogajournal.com that was put together by Kathryn Budig. It's considered an intermediate sequence but don't fear beginners! Yoga isn't about being perfect. It's about connecting the breath, letting the breath flow through the body. Don't over do it. Just have fun!
October 19th, 2011
Morning, yogis! I found a new instructor Sarah Starr. She instructs this seated practice perfect for the office.
It includes several stretches and breathing that you can do all while sitting. You don't leave your chair at all. I know several people work in an office and often don't leave their desk to loosen up or just get away.
A sequence like this one will help to break up that monotony in the body. Your body needs breaks at least 5 minutes an hour. Enjoy!

October 18th, 2011
Morning! I found a quick easy morning sequence to help loosen up those muscles. All yogis should easily be able to do this routine. Happy Tuesday! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eduJNJ__FY

October 17th, 2011-Afternoon Sequence
This afternoon, I wanted a quick energizing sequence and found the perfect upload by YogaDownload. Easy to follow with lots of energizing moves (e.g. standing splits, half moon).
It's great to do this in the middle of the day especially if you are at work. Good break from the desk or any type of work you may do. It'll re-energize you and help you through the rest of the work day.
October 17th, 2011
Good Morning. Another beautiful Monday morning and a new sequence by YogaVidyaEnglish. Although this class is marked as intermediate, I believe all yogis could easily do this sequence. The sequence begins with breathing exercises followed by a quick yoga flow and ending with savasana. While in savasana, he instructs the tightening of muscles before the release into relaxation.
With the breathing and poses (specifically shouldstand and plow), I find this sequence perfect for morning. It will help you energize to begin your day. Namaste.

October 14th, 2011 -Afternoon Practice
Good Afternoon! The afternoon is over the hump and the work day is half way over. I wanted to do another 'fat burning' sequence uploaded by YogaZone.
Jean instructs this class as well. As with the first fat burning sequence, you do several moving poses where you move with the breath. Your muscles start to burn and yet you don't feel exhausted from the sequence. Lots of fun! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnCPMZiqcnU
October 14th, 2011
Good Morning, yogis. I wanted to try another sequence from yogajournal.com. I found a nice hip opening sequence which worked great since my hips were a little tight this morning. Easy to follow with modifications if you need them. Enjoy! http://www.yogajournal.com/video/176

October 13th, 2011-Evening Practice
Youtube was running slowly so I found a nice intermediate sequence on yogajournal.com The finale of this sequence was 'wild thing' which is somewhat like a wheel or backbend. Some of the poses in this could be difficult for beginners but modifications are mentioned. Enjoy! http://www.yogajournal.com/video/181/
October 13th, 2011
Good Afternoon, yogis. I ran EARLY this morning so didn't do my yoga until the afternoon. I found another upload from YogaZone for weight loss.
Al instructs this beginner lesson. I still found it fun though. Even though it says for weight loss, there's not any sweating. Hope you enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WP26O9o2q0&feature=related

October 12th, 2011 - Afternoon Practice
What a beautiful day and afternoon this is. Amazing just feeling at peace with everything, that is why I do yoga. This afternoon, I wanted to try something else by YogaZone.
Jean (along with Douglas again) instructs this flexibility sequence. I'm rather flexible and have been from my youth (I was in dance and gymnastics). I believe flexibility is extremely important for your body.
Flexibility keeps the body active, helps to prevent injury and keeps you young. I hope you enjoy this sequence. Nothing too crazy here, just do your best and never push yourself past your limits. Namaste.
October 12th, 2011
Good morning, yogis. I just finished a fantastic flowing sequence from YogaZone. Jean instructed this 'fat burning' sequence.
Perfect way to start my morning. My blood is flowing, my heart racing and a little sweat. As always, there were modifications she notated when poses were more difficult. She usually did the modifications while the gentleman held the more advanced poses. And, yet the poses I wouldn't say were intermediate. Happy Wednesday! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7Gi1uM1Erk&NR=1

October 11th, 2011 -Evening Practice
Good evening, yogis. I turned again to YogaZone this evening as I wanted to try the 2nd Evening stress release sequence, this one instructed by Beverly.
I've found that all YogaZone uploads are easy to follow and for yogis or all levels. Each instructor has offered a modified version of any difficult poses. I feel great, ready to read and relax more. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KEr4akypeg&feature=related
October 11th, 2011 -Afternoon Practice
I really love the uploads by yogayak if you have time to do them. I decided to do one this afternoon. It's more for intermediate yogis, however beginners could easily do the class with a yoga block and belt.
More advanced poses like crane can be attempted. She instructs though that you can try 'crow' pose or stay in a squat. Also, headstand is included, one of my favorites. She does a yogi headstand. You can start practicing for headstand against a wall with your hands on the floor like a tripod then putting your knees on your elbows. It helps to build strength in your core this way so sooner or later, you'll make it all the way up into the air.
I started off that way, then advanced into a tripod headstand. Once I was able to hold that with ease, I conquered the yogi headstand. Most of this is core work.
I hope you enjoy. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obLEZDOrRRk
October 11th, 2011
I found a great morning sequence uploaded by YogaZone. It really ties in the energy plus stretching that bodies need in the morning after all that rest.
The instructor is someone new named Al. Jennifer and he go through the poses while instructing with ease. I feel amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PjDIp0cqDo

October 10th, 2011 - Evening Sequence
Good Evening fellow yogis. I had specifically bookmarked an evening stress release sequence from YogaZone thinking I hadn't done it before. Lo and behold, I have.
That's okay though. Charles was great. I feel relaxed, ready to go read in bed. Namaste.
October 10th, 2011
After a weekend of no working out and no yoga, I was more than ready to step back into the mix.
Since I knew work would be busy, I did a short vinyasa flow uploaded by yogatic. Super easy, super short. ENJOY! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEDlkBi8uwI

October 7th, 2011 Afternoon Practice
Fridays are always crazy busy for me. It's good to have a little break during all the craziness to re-align and de-stress the body and mind. This short sequence instructed by Neesha from yogatoday is perfect for that. Breathe and enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/user/yogatoday#p/u/57/FZyqe7Xe_D8
October 7th, 2011
Good Morning and Happy Friday, yogis. I hope this morning finds everyone in a fantastic mood ready to conquer the day. I found a nice 15 minute sequence uploaded by IlanaProudPoser who is a certified yoga instructor out of California.
The sequence volume is a little low so I recommend making sure your speakers are turned up. Ilana is easy to follow and moves quickly to get the blood flowing. Perfect for morning. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtIGpKEBDg4

October 6th, 2011 - Office Sequence
Good Afternoon, yogis! I found a fantastic office sequence or to offset sitting at a desk uploaded by SadieNardini. She instructs how to loosen up the neck and shoulder muscles and also how to re-energize the body and mind by doing some inverts.
I feel fantastic! Namaste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rqx1ykrsHJU
October 6th, 2011
Good Morning, happy Thursday! Feeling extremely happy this morning and wanted to do a yoga sequence to reflect that feeling.
I found a great morning sequence uploaded by yogatic. Esther is always so fun to do yoga with, short and easy to follow for yogis of all sorts. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/user/yogatic#p/u/35/3QsD-M4f5pk

October 5th, 2011 - Office Sequence
When work is crazy busy and you sit at a desk all day long, it's good to take breaks where you get up, walk around or :-) do yoga.
I found another office yoga sequence that Neesha of yogatoday instructs. It's really quick but definitely helpful in helping to ease the shoulder and neck muscles.
October 5th, 2011
Good Morning fellow yogis! Last night I did a search for what I planned on doing this morning. I searched for sequences by YogaZone and found a total body conditioning sequence.
Most of these aren't actually uploaded by them but by another beginner yogi.
Lisa instructs this sequence. Super easy to follow, no difficult postures.
The sequence is for allowing the breath to flow more through the body and keep the body young. Any modifications are mentioned and yogis of all sorts could easily do this practice. I feel ready to begin the day. Namaste! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcnvqURm0x0

October 4th, 2011 - Evening Sequence
After drinking Sleepytime tea, already feeling much relaxation in my body, I found a sequence uploaded by yogatic for evening. As always, Esther is super easy to follow. I would definitely recommend a belt or like I said before, I use my exercise band. It will help with stretching and going deeper into the poses.
Now, feeling even more relaxed, I believe it's time for bed. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JnleAjgV9I&feature=related
October 4th, 2011 -Mid Morning Practice
Wanted to do a short mid-morning sequence, for fun. I typed in 'short yoga' and found an upload by tarancollis. Super easy to follow and just relaxing, quiets the mind. I loved it.
October 4th, 2011
Good Morning! I wanted to do a short sequence this morning to energize my body. I found one uploaded by annenovak1 that's a kundalini practice.
Anne is very easy to follow. You begin with a mantra for empowerment, which she explains. During the sequence, most poses are done with 'breath of fire'. She also explains and demonstrates that.
I found this very easy to follow and I really DO feel more energized. What a beautiful morning! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4M6J5A85Fw

October 3rd, 2011 - Night Time Sequence
For my bedtime sequence, I found an upload from asktheyogaexpert. Unfortunately, it's not a full class, at the end it mentions how you can subscribe month to month. Nevertheless, what was on there was lots of fun and relaxing.
The instructor uses a lot of audible exhalations to calm the body and mind after the day. I enjoyed it a lot even though I'm not super sleepy. Hopefully, you'll enjoy this short sequence too. I'm sure it could be used at any time of day to just un-stress. Namaste! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VmAry9N9Zo
October 3rd, 2011 - Evening Sequence
Good Evening, I decided to do a sequence after dinner. I found one someone uploaded that is instructed by Rodney Yee.
It was definitely someone recorded from Discovery Health (in Spanish). Well, the whole practice is in English, the commercials that interrupt are in Spanish. If you can get over that, which I did and just moved the mouse to where the sequence began again, it's a great sequence. He's very easy to follow; yogis of all sorts will find the instructions rather easy.
Hope you enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0pZUjXGq8w&feature=related
October 3rd, 2011
My morning practice today is brought to you by...cissyyoga1. Haha.
B.K.S. Iyengar is known in the yoga world for being a master yogi and teacher. Iyengar yoga was derived from his teachings. I did a search specifically for 'Iyengar yoga' and found the video uploaded by cissyyoga1.
I found this perfect for this morning, short and sweet. Easy to follow. I would recommend a strap or belt for yogis that are not as flexible in the shoulders. Enjoy!

October 2nd, 2011 - Post Work Out
After my workout, which today was dancing, I wanted to look up a yoga sequence to aid with post workout stretching. I found one that's divided into two videos. Instructions were very easy for yogis of all levels.
I feel at ease now, ready to continue with the day.
October 2nd, 2011
Good Morning! Happy Sunday. I wanted to do a longer class this morning but nothing too active.
I found another upload from YogaDownload, a Gentle Hatha flow. Again, this is the instructor that has pictures rather than an active model demonstrating. Once again, very easy to follow with the instructions alone. I feel invigorated and ready to continue on with my day.
Peace and namaste! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNn5tSit4Nw

October 1st, 2011 - Afternoon Practice
For part of my workout today, I ran. I wanted something to help ease my body back to normal after running. Have to make sure the joints and muscles stay healthy.
I found an upload by rachelbreedingyoga. I'm very pleased with this sequence. It's not too long. Rachel is a great instructor, easy to follow. She explains when to breathe and names of poses. Perfect for all yogis. At the end of this sequence, instead of resting in savasana (corpse pose), you rest with your legs up the wall. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tZ1fCW8cpQ&feature=related
October 1st, 2011
Good Morning! Happy 1st day of October. I wanted to do a short morning sequence this morning before my actual workout. I found one uploaded by amandameehan1.
Amanda was super easy to follow; I feel much looser in my body. My neck and shoulders were rather tense when I woke up, most likely due to how I was sleeping. Time to continue on with the day.

September 30th, 2011 - Afternoon Practice
I needed to keep up my energy this afternoon. Fridays are busy days.
I found a perfect upload from yogajournal.com with Jason Crandell instructing. It's listed as 'beginner's'. Very easy to follow and the names of each pose show up once you go into the pose. That's helpful for new yogis wanting to learn the names of the poses.
On with the day...
September 30th, 2011
Good Morning! I wanted to try something different for my morning class. I found an upload by YogaVidyaEnglish. The beginning of the class involves a lot of breathing techniques that are easy to follow.
Then, we start doing sun salutations. Everything was fairly simple to follow. I was a bit tight in my shoulders today so doing shoulder stand and plow proved a bit difficult. All else went well with a great wind down.
The instructor goes through relaxing and then waking up the body. I enjoyed it all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsmepJ4ii00&feature=relmfu

September 29th, 2011
Busy day today...I know I had time to do other sequences but ended up just doing a short evening sequence. I chose this one because I have a bit of an upset stomach this evening and wanted something to ease the burning and uneasiness.
I found a fun upload. The instructor seems a bit absent minded or rushed and I do wish some of the poses were held longer. But, every pose, I know is great for digestion. Overall the class was easy and fun. Namaste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIc9hI6oOpo&feature=related

September 28th, 2011 Nighttime Practice
Tonight I wanted a nice quieting, relaxing practice. I had been eyeing this one uploaded by yogayak so decided that is what I would do tonight.
It was extremely relaxing. Perfect for right before bed. All poses are easy as is the instruction. Any yogi could conquer this sequence.
Time to sleep. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKm7Br6PaGw
September 28th, 2011 Mid Day Practice
For my midday practice, I wanted to do something from yogatoday.com. I started off with one thinking it was 17 mins long. It ended up being around 7 or 8 minutes and then replays itself. So, I did two sequences (short ones) uploaded by yogatoday.com. The first class is instructed by Neesha and the second by Sarah.
The first sequence had some balancing poses which may be difficult for beginners. Even I had difficulty lowering into a squat while in the pose. Keep practicing though, it gets easier.
The second sequence was very easy to follow. Enjoy!

September 28th, 2011
This morning, I'm feeling not as awake as I'd hope to be. I wanted more of an active practice to wake me up. I found one uploaded by yogatic for summer.
Although, summer is officially over calerdar-wise, it's still been very hot so I figured I'd give this sequence a shot. It's nice and short to incorporate into the morning. Yogis of all sorts should be able to easily complete this sequence.
Esther does go into crane or crow pose which a beginner may or may not be able to do. It took me awhile. I would recommend putting a pillow in front of you if you're going to give it a shot, that way if you fall forward, your head lands on the pillow.

September 27th, 2011 Afternoon Practice
For my afternoon practice today, I wanted to do a bit of core work since I did not get to incorporate that into my daily workout today. I found another great upload by SadieNardini.
Even though the sequence was rather short, I could really feel it working my core. I hope I have sore abs tomorrow. :-) http://www.youtube.com/user/sadienardini#p/u/47/ST5U3U0hqvs
September 27th, 2011
Another lovely morning yoga sequence this morning. I had a wonderful night of sleep and no tightness. Just wanted a routine to energize me this morning. I found the perfect short sequence to fit the bill uploaded by NadyaAndreeva. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLLskpRfhpM

September 26th, 2011 Evening
Tonight I had a lot of tension in my shoulders that were starting to go into my neck and head. It felt almost as if I could get a tension headache.
One of the many benefits of yoga is to heal. I immediately looked up a video for tension relief and came across someone new, Matt (who uploads under CafeHolistic). Matt had many great instructions. I was hoping for more 'action' or physicality in this class but all the poses were very helpful. He mentioned other uploads on youtube. I'm sure he has other helpful tips for staying healthy.
My shoulders do feel looser. Got to remind myself to sit up straight, walk straight, don't slouch! Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fROZfB2Aud8
September 26th, 2011
For my first sequence today, I wanted something short and sweet. I found an upload from yogatic that involved hip openers with instructor Esther Ekhart.
She was very easy to follow. I believe any yogi could easily follow this sequence that could be done at any time of the day. I was a little tighter in my hip on my right so when she put her right leg on top of her left leg, I did the modified move (she shows how to do that). I will definitely do more of her sequences. I enjoy her instruction.

September 24th, 2011
This morning when I woke up, I still felt very sleepy. I wanted to do an invigorating practice to help start my Saturday and wake me up. Success! I found a great sequence.
In fact, I was starting to sweat a lot. This video was uploaded by yogajan06. Great instruction, easy to follow. No difficult poses. Most of the poses involved moving within the pose. I enjoyed it. Ready to conquer the day!

September 22nd, 2011 Afternoon Practice
I wanted something invigorating this afternoon. I work at a desk, type a lot and am constantly on the phone. It can put a lot of strain on the neck and back.
I found an upload from yogatoday instructed by Neesha that was titled 'Energizing Office Yoga'. Perfect! No need for a mat or even yoga clothes. In fact, she's dressed in a suit and heels. Chairs and desk are both utilized to help stretch and open.
Wonderfully quick, so you can get back to your work day! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bZ9z6BBMVY
September 23rd, 2011
Happy Friday. I decided to actually do a morning sequence almost immediately upon waking. My body was still warm from being in bed so I started to sweat easily.
I did another search for 'morning yoga' and found one uploaded by UmojaYoga. She instructed very well and was easily followed. I feel immediately more awake but my muscles are relaxed. So, not like I had just woken up and stiff from bed. Hooray. Mission accomplished!

September 22nd, 2011 Evening Practice
For this evening, I followed another sequence that had been uploaded by yogadownload. It had the same instructor speaking and the same girl in the pictures as earlier today.
I liked the fact that it was a quick evening practice but guess I was hoping for a little more. I'll try a different one another night. Time for a meditation. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvMWLqGvfa0&feature=related
September 22nd, 2011 Afternoon Practice
Since I run often for my workout and enjoy running very much, after work today, I decided to find a yoga sequence that would aid my body in running.
Although it was just a series of photos and not a live person going into each pose, the instructor advised so well how to enter each pose and when to breathe. I have never done a sequence uploaded by YogaDownload, but will definitely do more in the future.
Right now, I feel energetic, ready for my evening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSAS2UbW5cI&feature=relmfu
September 22nd, 2011
I woke up rather tense this morning. It may have been the way I slept or may have been the fact that I did not wind down with yoga last night. Nevertheless, I felt the need for some loosening up this morning.
I did a search on youtube for 'morning yoga' again. I found one uploaded by kineticvigilantes; I have never done a sequence from this person before.
She was very easy to follow. It seemed to move a bit quickly but it is a short sequence. I guess I prefer the flow of Neesha's morning sequence more.
It did loosen up my shoulders though, and I'm ready for the rest of my day! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_FpE5iCyYU
September 21st, 2011
I wanted something short and sweet today. I felt like this would go along with my regular workout since I ran. Toning up the butt never hurts. :-)
Adi from yogatoday.com instructs in a similar way to Neesha; both very easy to follow. While doing this sequence, I could feel it all through my butt and legs. Great middle of the day sequence! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYQcmcdZ_hc

September 20th, 2011 Evening Practice
For tonight, I wanted a quick practice. I did a search on youtube.com and found an upload from yogatoday.com that helped to combat insomnia.
Sarah instructed this class; a blanket and yoga block are recommended to relax more. I felt this class relaxed me well. Sarah was easy to follow as well, though her teaching is a bit different from Neesha's. You see her in the pose but she doesn't instruct at the same time, a bit like a voice over. Still very easy to follow. Sleep well.

September 20th, 2011 Afternoon Practice
I had a wonderful afternoon practice today. I practiced around 5 o'clock. I typed in 'afternoon yoga' on youtube.com and up popped another sequence that had been uploaded by yogayak. It was EXACTLY what I wanted.
I think some of the poses may be difficult for beginners. At times, the poses are held for extended times. It included some balance postures that may at first seem trying. But, stick to it, and you'll master them.
Afterward, I feel energetic yet relaxed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tklllKHDkIE
September 20th, 2011
Good morning all! Happy Tuesday to everyone.
After my night-time yoga last night and some meditation, I slept very deeply. I wanted to loosen up my muscles again and get ready for the day.
I did a search on youtube.com for 'morning yoga', several options came up. I found one lead by Neesha from yogatoday.com. Always easy to follow. I didn't mention last time, the names of the poses are printed on the screen whenever she mentions them.
I feel great, ready to take on the day! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeL3IvG4iJI

September 19th, 2011-Evening Sequence
Earlier, I noticed Yoga Zone had an evening stress release sequence. A different instructor lead this class. I found that it was still very easy to follow. It seems as if they use similar techniques. It was a great success. I feel much relaxation. Time to sleep. Namaste. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spWmuGEgnUA&feature=related

For shame, yesterday I felt very lazy and did no yoga. Of course, I started back today with an after work/after dinner sequence perfect for getting ready for the evening. I found Yoga Zone. I had never tried any of their videos before and very much enjoyed it.
Once again, any yogi would be able to follow this class. What I did find interesting is how flowing the poses were, it somewhat reminded me of pilates. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEYPKXV661g&feature=related
Day Six-September 17th, 2011
Since today was my day off from my regular workout, I decided to incorporate a longer yoga sequence. I followed a yogatoday.com sequence taught again by Neesha. Once again, this was very easy to follow. Any yogi could easily follow any of the poses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCFeAJAFWpU

Day Five-September 16th, 2011 Afternoon practice
For my afternoon sequence today, I once again turned to yogatoday.com. I wanted to try more challenging sequences. Neesha requires a yoga block for one short part of the sequence so you're aware of space in the legs.
I wasn't able to achieve the full pose but got pretty close. I was able to do the side crane pose almost with ease, which was difficult for me previously. Needless to say, I was very excited about being able to do that.
The sequence would be difficult for beginners. Practice helps, and it's always fun to see the more challenging poses.
I can't wait to be able to do the full pose. Namaste.

Day Five-September 16th, 2011 Morning practice
To wake up this morning and help expand my muscles, mind, lungs...I decided to once again turn to Tara Stiles. I believe I figured out why she is speaking so quickly when she does these. It seems that she does her own sequence then adds her voice to instruct. Nevertheless, after this short practice, I feel awakened and alert.
Day Four-September 15th, 2011 Sequence 2
For my 2nd sequence, I wanted something quieting. I searched youtube and found http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqWpt1xyn8A
While I found the sequence and moves very useful and easy, it wasn't exactly quieting but more rushed. I would try it again but only after I knew the whole sequence and could do it at a slower pace. Of course, it could work for a quick fast paced sequence.

Day Four-September 15th, 2011
First of all, let me mention how I noticed today how much easier I was breathing while working out, thanks to my yoga practice. This afternoon, I decided to do a sequence to help bring my energy back up. You know how sometimes in the afternoon, you feel a bit sluggish. Again, I turned to Jason Crandell and yogajournal.com. http://www.yogajournal.com/video/67
The sequence is easy for all yogis. However, if you are a beginner, you may have to glance up to see which pose he discusses as he uses the sanskrit word for the pose quite a few times.
I feel full of energy and extremely happy. Glad to have these feelings flowing through me. HOORAY!
Day Three- September 14th, 2011-Sequence 2
For my evening sequence, I felt the need for much calm. I still had so much energy coursing through my body even though it was 10pm. I turned to a trusted sequence I've used previously. http://www.yogajournal.com/video/54
Jason Crandell talks in a way to help yogis of all sorts from beginners to experts. A belt is recommended for this sequence; I used my exercise band.
I was a bit tight in my hips tonight and since this is a calming sequence as well, I did not push my body too much. He explains which poses to stick with if you are tighter in your hips or not as flexible.
My body is much more calm after, time to sleep. Namaste.

Day Three- September 14th, 2011-Sequence 1
We're going for two sequences today. At 4:30pm, I decided to look up a short yogatoday.com sequence. I found one on youtube.com http://www.youtube.com/user/yogatoday?blend=1&ob=5#p/u/48/uItLmLRR2Xk
I decided to see if in fact this was easy for a novice to follow. My answer, yes! Neesha is always a great instructor. There are no difficult moves, and she explains exactly how to move the body. She also tells the viewer the English and sanskrit word for the pose. I enjoyed this for my first practice today. I feel calm yet energized.
Also, the view of Jackson Hole is always a welcoming site.

Day Two-September 13th, 2011
After reading a bit about different variations, I was wanting to try something a little more fast paced today. I searched for Ashtanga, but didn't find one yet that suited what I wanted. I did stumble across this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6Wt9CFb-4s
Sadie Nardini, the instructor, describes 'Golden Egg Breath' as a way to fire up the metabolism. She was also very instructive and I was sweating in no time. It was exactly what I was looking for today.
I should say that I did this practice starting around 6:30pm. I wouldn't recommend doing this right before bed as right now, I feel full of energy. Also, I feel as if I'm breathing more fully.
Another great day of yoga; I will definitely do more of Sadie's sequences. I love youtube.com Until tomorrow...namaste.

Day One-September 12, 2011
As I mentioned previously, one autumn/winter I was practicing for almost an hour each night. It was at that time I noticed how deeply I slept after doing yoga. During that time, I would simply go to yogatoday.com and do a sequence. However, a year or more ago, they started to charge for their online classes. I complete understand why; they're awesome!
I was overjoyed to find the other day that some of those longer classes are on youtube.com. I haven't embarked on doing one yet. I'm simply easing back into those long classes.
For today, I decided on this sequence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bofQabiS3C4
I am not feeling particularly sad, but I wanted to feel really happy. The class was easy to follow, especially if you are a beginner. The poses are not complicated and the instructor does not use any sanskrit words for the poses but rather describes how to move into the pose. I also felt she was very thorough when telling you when to breathe and how exactly to make sure your body was positioned.
Afterward, I feel relaxed. It is time to wind down for bed. I definitely will check out yogayak's other uploads. Namaste.
Introduction
As a way to connect more with my body and mind or maybe I should say connecting my body and mind, I've decided to practice yoga every day. Whether it be for just 10 mins, I intend to do some sort of yoga practice each day. I felt this to be necessary after feeling a bit of disconnect between the two.
Several years ago, I started practicing yoga (around 2005). One autumn/winter, I did an hour practice at least three to four times a week. I noticed how I was more at peace. I noticed a connection I felt with all living beings. I had more compassion. Even though it was around the holiday season and people were on edge, I was not reacting to their anger or rushed-ness. Rather, I understood how they felt.
In my blog, I will let you know which yoga practice I do that day. If it is an online practice, I'll post the link. If I do my own sequence, I'll write out which poses I used. As a note, some sequences require a yoga belt (I use an exercise band) and/or a yoga block. Both can be especially helpful for people just beginning yoga. Enjoy!
